A Thyroid Healing Story

My deep dive into holistic health began with an autoimmune diagnosis—the moment I discovered how profoundly stress, environment, and our personal stories can impact our health.

At 49, I was diagnosed with both Graves’ and Hashimoto's Thyroid diseases. My world was suddenly turned upside down by symptoms like tachycardia, tremors, drastic weight loss, anxiety, fatigue, and insomnia.

The Thyroid is a small, butterfly-shaped gland. Yet, it plays a vital role in regulating energy, metabolism, and overall well-being, influencing nearly every organ system and impacting everything from mood and weight to heart health and body temperature. It wasn't until I got diagnosed that I realized I had been experiencing some of these issues for years.

Conventional treatment for my condition meant radioactive iodine, but as I wasn't ready to give up my ​Thyroid as the first course of action, I immersed myself in learning everything I could about Thyroid autoimmunity.

With the support of my Doctor and a commitment to "block and replace" medication treatment, I embarked on a transformative three-year journey to ​remission, working tirelessly to identify my triggers, addressing gut health, nutritional deficiencies, inflammation, and food sensitivities, and most importantly, managing the stress that contributed to the diagnosis.

Once I understood how to support my health, my numbers normalized, and my antibodies progressively decreased until I felt myself again. My sleep, my food reactions, and my energy levels significantly improved.

I regained control of my health through dedication to lifestyle changes and integrative practices. It wasn't easy; it took lots of trials and adjustments, but today, I'm proud to say I saved my ​Thyroid and am medication-free.

I did not stop here; healing for me meant going beyond remission and looking into the emotional and psychological layers that shape our health, life stories, patterns, and personality traits, which, over time, can become a silent contributor to chronic illness.

This profound work has enabled me to return to a more aligned version of myself and enter menopause and my empty nest years as the healthiest possible, with renewed energy and vitality and a newfound purpose in helping others on their wellness journey

Today, I aim to inspire, guide, and empower women to take ownership of their lifestyle and pursue the life they are meant for.
